Default Climate control module location

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure that my climate control module is on the way out. Cool air is sporadic at best so I am getting another one from a wrecked car. Has anyone else ever changed one out? Any pointers? Checked all over for the location and can't find anything.

Do we assume you checked the AC system to see if it was fully charged using a gauge set.

Yes, sorry I didn't clarify that. Pressures are good and the compressor checks out. A while back my computer noted a code in the module but I didn't pay attention to it because the problem was just every once in a while. Now my computer shows nothing and it really hardly blows cold air at all. Sometimes if you really hammer on the throttle it will kick on which sounds like a vacuum problem but I am getting the module cheap enough that if it isn't the problem then no big deal.

You might need to get someone with the IDS/SDD software to code the module with your vin. These guys are ok : For Land Rover Range Rover Vogue Diagnostics Kit IDS "SDD" JLR V130 | eBay

I've never replaced a module so I can't tell you if you need to do this for climate control module... but it might make sense to do the diagnostics first to get the full codes.

The module came in yesterday so I am going to go ahead and swap it out if it isn't too big of a PIA. Does anyone know where it is located or have any knowledge about procedure? If not, does anyone know of a PDF or diagram showing module locations?

If it needs to be coded, then I will order the IDS cable listed above. My computer can really dig into the system so I might be able to do it with what I have.

Default Automatic Temperature control module

If I have the right one it looks like it is on the blower motor casing (not the blower motor itself:at least in the 07 manual). The problem is in the repair manual it says step #2 in removing it is "Remove Instrument Panel" (IE take the whole dashboard off). Hopefully there is an easier way that someone knows of..I have not done it. Jac

Hi, please excuse me for butting in.
When i bought my XK a few weeks back, i had to change a aircon/ fan module. This may be the one your talking about. If so it only takes 15 minutes to do.
If you remove the carpet covering the fan on the passenger side of the car ( mines a RHD car). You will see in the picture my fan unit is to the left, and to the right you can see the module with the electrical connector (red and green wire) on it. Its simply held on via two torqe (star) bolts. Undo the bolts and with draw.
Then replace with new unit and jobs done. There was no reprogramming needed, its just plug in and play.
I hope this helps, however this may not be the module you are talking about. In that case......carry on men, disregard my last
