Climate Control
Sounds like the backlighting is going out and that is causing the screen to appear to flash on/off. Unfortunately, the fix is removing the control panel and accessing the back of the screen and hoping that you can find a broken/cracked solder joint.
My flashing (constant display blink-blink-blink) was a bad cap in the voltage convertor. A month now, and my fingers are almost healed, Those covers are SHARP!
On the plus side, the later console is in...nice to have two cupholders and no "disco dash™"!

First, is it your display that is blinking, or just the lighting?
If it is the backlighting, open the unit and look along the front edge board connectors with a strong light and a magnifier...you'll almost certainly find a broken solder joint or two.
If it is the display, yes, i did it myself, but I am pretty comfortable sticking my hands into equipment that costs more than I make in 5 years!
Whoops...editing...that was the radio display with the group of caps....the climate control has ONE can...that was the issue.
TBH, If I had it to do again, I'd check with Dr. Dome on here, or ebay, and get a replacement for $30 or so.
There is actually very little on the board, so the sections are obvious.
