Considering 2007 XKR as fun weekend ride
Title says it all and I've done some reading but haven't really found the info I am looking for. Keep looking or run?
These are newer cars, but now actually quite old, so not as simple as buying an old car you can work on in your garage yourself - I guess unless you are a real mechanic of which I am not. I am just a handy guy who enjoys learning new things and takes on projects. I did all sorts of repairs on a 911 I had a while ago but never rebuilt the engine or anything like that. I just haven't ever learned real mechanics skills I just learn as I go.
With that said, should I even consider a car like this?
I appreciate your help!

Hi,
That’s a confusing typo but a 2007 XKR is aX150 model. Go to that Forum and ask... link below
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-x150-33/
There’s plenty of threads with discussion on comparing our earlier X100 with the X150. One example below
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-217155/page2/
Of course there’s a bit is bias depending on what car the member owned.
We have a long standing Forum member, our eminent Reverend Sam, who has owned and worked on both cars. Maybe ask his opinion via PM.

The road of life is short, so enjoy the ride! Buy it! But before you do, you must do your due diligence. That includes learning how to use this Forum's Advanced Search function to find the answers to all of your questions about the 2007 XKR, including how to find a good one. Good luck!

There looks to be a nice example of a 2007 British green coupe on eBay this morning for what I would consider a reasonable price if it is as described. I recently bought a low mileage 2008 for a bit higher price but after 6 months and 5000 miles I've been quite pleased.
This forum is a great start. Also, there is a Jag club in Houston. Good people. You can reach out to them for some advice, recommendations, etc. Someone probably knows someone selling one. I did a few months ago but it's gone now. Call Ron.
