Looks like they charged $896.46 labor to fix a broken wire.

Well, it was under warranty so I paid $50.

Yeah here's what interesting-- as far as I could tell, they def MacGyver'd it. Found a length of white wire, spliced it in, bypassing the existing bad wire and leaving it in there. BUT BUT BUT... since the warranty was gonna pay, surely there was another way?
Ends up yes. And that way (replacing much more stuff) was over $5,000. So, I asked? Well, I had a second issue when I brought it in, which was overheating... they replaced the thermostat AND the fan sensor... thing is, the cooling fan sensor is built into the fan/motor/shroud assembly, which had to be replaced. Cost of that part alone was over $1,000.
Oh and yes... I've now "spent out" my warranty (they've paid out about $23,000). Which I had no idea it was possible to do, but there you go.

Who was the warranty with? How much was it? How many years? Your car is a 2010. How did you get a warranty on an eleven year old car?
