Convertible top wear

Convertible top wear
The black convertible top on my 2008 XK is starting to show signs of wear. Specifically, it looks like it is starting to slowly fray aaway. I stopped by the dealer today & showed them the top. The dealer said this is a common problem but my top is not bad enough to get replaced - yet. I told the dealer I was concerned because my original warranty is expiring next month. The dealer said that Jaguar will cover replacement of the top as long as I own the car - even after the warranty expires.
That doesn't seem right. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Our 2007 shows the wear, it's where the roof folds in on itself when down. If you look at all other XK's most have the wear marks, also if you look at Boxtersvand 911's they are the same. I believe it is normal wear and tear, but if your dealer says other wise def get it in writing. I just make sure I treat the roof with Jaguar or Porsche roof sealer once to twice a year.

Link to JaguarUSA Warranty Site
If you are the original owner and had your car serviced by the book at your friendly Jaguar dealer, you might be able to get some accommodation from JaguarUSA or the dealer after your warranty expires. But I wouldn't count on it.
See this link for the official JaguarUSA warranty, by model year:
Jaguar USA - PASSPORT TO SERVICE
Nothing in these warranty documents supports your dealer's claim that Jaguar will cover the cost to replace the convertible top as long as you own the car.
Let us know if your dealer is willing to put it in writing. Good Luck!
