Added "RESOLVED" to your thread title so it stands out in searches when the next owner comes along looking for possible causes.

Bad news, the noise is back. This time on the left side, not the right. Still very loud.

Idk how this is possible. I replaced the bushings and the upper arms on BOTH sides, yet the noise moved from right to left.

I'm just about ready to drive this car off a cliff... with me in it.

Guess it's back to the jackstands ...

Ok I finally got it.

The noise is coming from the LH lower control arm bushing. The rear, inside one. I put the car on ramps and started spraying each bushing 1 by 1, and pushing down on the trunk after every spray. The noise completely went away after I sprayed that bushing. Visually, it clearly needs to be replaced. Thought the upper ones were bad, lower ones were worse.

So its on to replacing the lower arms. At least I won't have to disconnect the brake lines again.

FYI the lower control arm from rockauto (DORMAN) did not fit. The outer bushing was too long. Should be 54mm but theirs was 60mm. I sent them back and hopefully the other brand they send does fit.

Left one came out ok but the right one, well ...

Had to cut out a nice piece of frame for the bolt to clear ...

Hey gkubrak, do you know the part number on the lower control arm you purchased on Rock Auto and do you know if there is a part number from Ford that works? I've seen that the Lincoln LS from 2006 has some of the same parts as the Jaguar S and the XK too. I have a 2007 XK and not sure if it has the same parts as your XKR or if the Ford/Lincoln parts would work.

I'm getting ready to order all my suspension parts like the wishbone, sway bar, tie rods etc. It would be nice to see a cross reference where we can punch in the Jaguar part number and see the corresponding Ford Part number. Is that available anywhere?

Check this thread out:

I only know of the upper rear arms from Ford. The cross reference list you mention is a unicorn - but yes it would be nice.

I bought all MOVOTEC brand from Rock Auto + the rear upper arms from Ford. However I returned the front lower arms because they were still in good shape and a pain to change out.
