Im set on getting a tune for my 08 xkr and so far I decided on a flash tune with the handheld flasher. Here are the 2 options:
1. OE tuning in Huntingtont beach which is 1 hour drive from me so in case I wanted to get a custom dyno tune I could always stop by there. From talking with them they said that a custom dyno tune is not necessarily needed or will it make much more power for my car, but they can do it for additional charge.

2. Eurocharged also similarly priced and comes with the handheld flasher but there is no location near by so all would need to be done via mail and email.

Both tunes will come with race gas tune, stock tune, and 91 octane tune, so I can easily flash to the one I need.

Any suggestions or experience with these tuners would be greatly appreciated.

I used Eurocharged for my XFR via the MyGenius hand held. Phil from Houston shipped it out overnight, I downloaded my stock ECU map and emailed it off to Jerry. Got the modified file the following morning and ten minutes later I had a new beast. Jerry and Phil were happy to answer all manner of questions before during and after. I also got the supercharger pulley from them as a package and debated for a while before finally getting it installed. Apart from the slight pinch in the wallet, I'm a believer...

You may want to verify that the handheld will work with your Denso ECU. I was told that it was not compatible with my 2008 XKR and that it only worked with Bosch ECUs from 2010+ 5.0L motors.

Ive used both companies and they both do a fantastic job

In terms of who can offer the most substantial gains i would be inclined to use Jeremy at OE tuning as he offers the custom dyno tune service

The handheld programmer will work with the 4.2's and 5.0's and will work on the car above.

We also offer custom dyno tuning services, that will not be an issue since the handheld will allow for remote tuning.

Thanks

Thank you for the clairification. Is this an Alientech product?

Pricing for the 4.2 AJ34S Denso ECU?

Expected gains?

Pulled the plug and went with OE mainly because of proximity to me and possibility of custom dyno tune.

Look in to ETG. I used their tune on my 12XK vert. They are located in Beverly Hills and Jags will come to you. Once you get a hold of him he is very responsive and knowledgeable. He will stay on the case with you and get the job done in a reasonable time span. When I am ready to tune my 13 XKR I will use ETG for both the pulley and the tune.
