OK even if your old iPod doesn't have BT, try playing it directly connected to the cable. If it doesn't work, you know your phone is fine and the Bovee is fine and your problem lies in the cables, module or system software, but at least you'll eliminate half your problems.

I have recently had this problem with a USB storage stick that contains MP3's. Initially it was working and now it tries to load but pauses.

Have you defragged your USB drive? Mine had a couple problems the first time I tried it out, but a quick defrag and it worked great afterwards.
I had 17,000 songs on my drive but it took awhile too long to load so I halved it, just over 8,000 now and it plays a bit quicker.

17,000 songs? Really? That's like a lifetime of music for me.

Hi, did you manage to solve your problem? I just got my 2010 XKR and have exactly the same problem. I connect my bovee and screen says for 20 sec “docking” and than “paused”.

I have 2 bovee (also have Xf) so for sure this is XKR issue not bovee. Any solution?

Sorry I couldn't help, I am way out of my depth with the problems you are encountering....
LOl! Me too, I solved all in-car music-related issues by installing a performance exhaust system
