Door Card Rehab
Thanks for the reply billqs, I have some big plans for it but I am starting simple and will work up to it, I plan to move the factory AMP to the boot and will use it as high level input into a DSPAMP someing like a helix ampify D206 and a couple of mono blocks for 2 subs 1 front one rear. it looks like getting an input from the MOST will cost at least £600 for a bit DMI or equivalent. I would rather just relocate the factory amp and like you did before on the XE have something De equalize it. I appreciate its a convertible so flawed for the best sound but thats not why I got it was for the looks and the engine. All the audio upgrades will be done in stages as part of my summer weekend downtime. I like the idea of the sensetive speakers, Thats a great place to start, is it a focal 2 way or the sik domes from another make. My sound proofing and damping materials turned up today so if I order a set of speakers I can at least listen to the difference the mr12v makes and decide from there?? and good to hear others have had good results with doing that as its my biggest worry is it will sound poor(the entertainment not the car!!!). I will look into those drivers as ran focal before and liked them. I did message the UK supplier and they cofirmed that the MR12v doesnt have any direct output of its own only via the factory amp so I miss understood how that worked. Many Thanks for the detail
The Mr.12Volt has a full parametric equalizer built-in that can help de-DSP the factory curve. If you find you can live with the aftermarket amp running it will save a lot of work as my dives into my XE took forever! It should not be difficult to run a different sub. On the coupe the amp is in the passenger footwell attached to the sub enclosure.
