Default Door Panels

Several years ago, I had rounds with Jaguar and my local dealer about my door panels. The leather had come loose on both panels and was drooping. Jaguar said they would fix them, then the dealer refused, then Jaguar refused. It went back and forth until the warranty ran out. Which I suspect was the plan all along. Anyhow, spring forward to now. I had enough of the way the panels looked and most shops in my area wanted to remove the leather and replace it. I feared it would never match. So I contacted a shop in Huntsville Al and he said no problem. I removed the door panels, took them to him and got them back Wednesday. As you can see from the pics, it looks like new. He was able to remove the foam backing and glue the original leather back on. Thumbs up to Rod's Customs.

Its hard to find anyone that "fixes" things these days. The default is to replace. When you find a shop like you did, its best to hang on to them like grim death.

Agreed. Even if a shop is found, it's hard to find one locally. I remember when I had my used car business in NY, I had an upholsterer who came to my location and removed the seats or panels, took them back to his shop for repair and returned and installed the repaired items. And on top of that he was super reasonable. Those were the days!!!

What was even better was the cost....$150. That was with me taking them off. Which was an easy job. Said he had been doing them on Jaguar, BMW and Benz. Thanks for compliments. I'm very happy with them too.
