Default Driver seat would not move

Just an FYI for anyone else in a similar situation...

1) Had not had the 07 XK on a battery tender for a couple of days
2) Spent some time cleaning it (1-2 hours)
3) Moved driver's side seat all the way back to vacuum
4) After 15 minutes or so, driver's side seat would not respond at all. Car would start, windows worked, passenger seat worked.
5) Hooked battery tender back up
6) Driver's seat operational after about 3 hours

I know there were similar posts out there so just adding this to the knowledge base for others.

Yes Brian the battery died, it happens.

What you missed from in including in your post was:

1) How old your battery is?
2) Were the doors open courtesy lights on for the duration?
3) Were you using anything like a shotvac from car power?
4) What brand of battery tender you are using?

Without the above your thread's a little useless

2 no need

He's just saying you need a battery tender if you clean or mess with your car for a couple of hours!

2007 XKR...it happened to me. Put the CTEK on it for an hr and all was fine again. Other thing to go wrong is CD player.

1) Battery is fairly new - about 1.5 years
2) Doors were all open - including the hatch
3) "Battery Tender Plus" - Delran
4) Not sure of the battery make right now

The reason I shared the above is that I found it very surprising that the car is that sensitive to battery discharge. Granted this was not a scientific experiment, but I have never had another car that was so quirky when it comes to battery maintenance. The good news is that the problem is easily solved.

Lol Peter, didn't we all know that, or at least anyone that's owned cars for over 10yrs??

Not strictly true, I can detail.my engine bay for 2hrs and no need for me to have the battery on charge.

PS: 'battery tender' is a TM of deltran and, has oft been mentioned, they are pants when compared with CTEK

It is all dependent on what condition the battery has been operating in before the doors opened happened. My battery was already in a low state of charge, so despite only being a year old it was ready to have issues- I'd been driving infrequently and doing a lot of work on her with doors open etc.

since putting on CTEK in August all is fine despite only using once every 2 or 3 weeks for a 10 mile drive only until being put away last week for winter

:-( If your battery only lasts a few days without a tender, you need a new battery.
As I posted earlier, my battery lasts 6mo. without a tender. That is, stored in a heated garage for 6mo. and starts right up without any issue.

Ok, the translation for that is missing on this side of the pond.
I have a ‘battery tender’, but let’s put it this way, I’m not putting the family jewels into it, or a CTEK!
