Default Enabling Aux...

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to find somewhere (or someone!) to activate the Aux function in my infotainment. My car didn't come with the Aux enabled or the module installed, however, my understanding is reading through various threads is that once enabled through the dealer software, I can select it from the audio menu and plug in one of the harness extension thingys to the back of the radio unit that has a bluetooth receiver added on, which then runs through the aux inputs. So a no frills way of getting bluetooth streaming into the existing system.

My difficulty is getting that aux button enabled - one Jag specialist near me said it was a dealer only job, the other "thought" they could do it (but not very convincingly) - am I going to have to bite the bullet and pay one of the Jag franchises to do it? Wondered if anyone in the Midlands area knew a place they'd had it done - or if any members are near to me and have the ability.

Alternatively, other suggestions are welcome - my understanding is that the 2006 MY is slightly different with infotainment to the 07 onwards, so I can't for example get the Mr12volt interface - I think the OldJag interface to add android auto and BT streaming etc WAS an option, but a bit out of my price range...

Thanks!

The auxiliary input is already available on a 2006 car but just needs to be activated so you can access it in the display. Once you have it activated you can have excellent Bluetooth for peanuts. Full details of my installation here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...4/#post2550427

Anyone with SDD should be able to activate the AUX input but I had mine done at an independent 5 miles north of Straford upon Avon. Are you far from there?

Find an independent that uses Autologic. It’s a quick and easy job!

I'm about an hour away from Stratford, so could be an option! Can you PM me the details?

Apologies for the delay. This is who I used to enable aux. I took my car to his garage in Snitterfield.
