There are several good comments there. Yes, the XK Series is an exceptionally good looking, classic car. V8 4.2 has a good rep. Alu chassis and body is a big +. The 5.0 has awesome power.

Jaguar prices may be not cheap, but definitely lower than A-M, Porsche and Ferrari.

The problem is, as has been stated, it´s a "niche car" not that well recognised by the general public and car lovers. "Mercedes" and "Porsche" still have more weight, and command premium prices.

As also has been stated: look for the best you can find, and expect and put aside some money for extra maintenance.

And ENJOY your car! Anything comparable to it is MUCH MORE expensive. Whether new or used.

Just my 2 cents, Hermann

No one is paying $40K for a 2010, even with very low miles. That's mid-mileage 2014 and 2015 prices right now.

Right? I got my 2010 seven years ago on a CPO lease return and I paid $35,000. Seven years ago.

Even BAT, a bastion of crazy high prices, shows just over 30k for a 2010 coupe...

Default Not expensive at all…

If you DIY though, there's some nice bargains out there. I don't mind considering between 70-110K, mileage way out of acceptable range for many buyers. And for me, a big part of ownership is learning a new car.
i currently have two Jags one 2011 (xkr) the other 2009 (XF) neither has had a bill over 300$ at the dealer. The only expensive parts have been tires.
Its also my 5th jag since 2009 and all have been
incredibly reliable with no expensive repairs. Also easy to work on.

note: i did spin a bering on my 2013 V6 SC however the mechanic started the car dry after an oil change( i do my own now) … yeah i know. I replaced the engine and sold the car …im not a fan of the V6 actually any V6.
