Thanks TraxstarXKR. Anyone know what the purpose of it is? I mean there's a speedo right to the left.

No idea... Three are quite a few selectable display options that are more-or-less pointless.

I find that having the digital readout of the current speed in the center of the screen in front of me to be very useful. I seldom use the regular speedometer.

I'll even throw in a few extra pics cause you no longer have a dip stick to check your oil.You gotta check it with the button on the signal light switch before you crank your jag on

This the interior and gotta clean it out cause it's muddy out here

The back window is sealed up so the water won't leak thru. The brentwood,Nashville,TN Jaguar dealership sealed it for me until i put my new convertible top on which i already bought but haven't gotten put on yet for $1,400

Just the side view

Front

I always find the top of the steering wheel blocks my view of the speedometer, so having it displayed low and center would be great.

agreed if it appeared when the car starts (if you have that option) but a bit more a PIA if you have to push button several times @ startup.

If you leave it set on that option when you shut down the vehicle, whatever option you have left it on will appear when you start the car up. That's the way I use mine.

Summarizing...
From what I see in an XK of the year 2008 there is no way to visualize the engine temperature in any of the 2 screens.
I suppose that if I want to read this parameter constantly I will have to mount some external element to the car connected to the OBD2 or install a temperature probe from somewhere in the engine with an independent display

Did you not read these threads? Either will get you the temperature displayed on your infotainment display:

I think that's what he's referring to by "mount some external element to the car connected to the OBD2"?

kj I would assume the OP doesn't have the capability to do this modification. Although it may seem rather simple for some to do the installation for others the fear would be destroying some parts and rendering the mod useless. Just my thoughts here

Maybe, but he also said “with an independent display”, so if he’s serious about wanting it integrated, it can and has been done.

That could be. Or perhaps he can’t justify the expense to have it integrated.

Did you try to re-glue the window to the canvas? It's an easy DIY fix for under $100. Read my posts in this thread starting with #105 about using Rhino Glue and Suck 'N Clamps:

I had not found them.
When using the google translator I suppose that the translations of the forum threads do not make them all right to Spanish.
Thanks for the info.

Default simple, but not perfect solution for me

I intend to put such a OBD2 device on board, too.

WHICH Infos are all there in the carīs system? I would like:

oil pressure
water level ( I think thereīs a water tank with level warning )
oil temperature
water temperature

HOW do I know, which "channel" is what info?

And, as I have a air grill mounted handy ( = mobile phone / smartphone ) already, which I use for phone and Navi, I will mount another with an elder handy and have the infos displayed per bluetooth on handy. Itīs possible to do this in "classic round instruments" look.

If I want unspoiled original car look back, I simply remove mobile phones and mounts.

Perhaps later Iīll do a "better" solution.

Have fun, Hermann

Use the thread in the DIY section to guide you. It's under Mods. There are too many threads covering the same topic so best to use that one and ask your questions there. You have to understand Torque Pro first. Easy demo video on post 5 of that mod thread. It's limited, like any app to the data supplied to the OBD II port.

There is a fellow in Florida whose name escapes me that makes and refurbishes interior wood items for Jaguars. I believe that is where I got mine. Look for him in ebay. There are also others.
