Default Engine management light!

Hi Guys
I have a 2006 xkr. Yesterday after work i started the car and nooooo engine management light stayed on. I turned it off then on then off. In the desperate hope that it would fix itself It didn't of coarse, so its booked in to be diagnosed on Thursday.
There is no loss of performance, everything seems to be doing what it's supposed to be doing. Apart from that damn light all seems fine.
Anyone had this happen? and what was the outcome.
Will let you know what fault codes come up on Thursday.....fingers crossed nothing too major.

Just back from getting the codes read. Turns out it was the EGR valve that caused the fault code. May have just bee a bit of crap in there. Anyway they cleared the code and all is good once again. If it comes back on again may see if the valve can be cleaned or may replace it. Does anyone think putting a fuel cleaner through may help?

Not sure on the Jags but on many cars the valve can be taken off and cleaned. Not hard at all. The valve gets carboned up and needs to be cleaned. The stuff is hard and I doubt that a cleaner would work but it's worth a shot. B&G makes a product called BK 44 that people swear by(well documented). Somewhat hard to find, may be available on ebay or at a repair facility so you'll have to do a search for it in your area for the distributor, and then get referred to a dealer. GL
