Default Exhaust Installation Cost Check

Finally pulled the trigger on a mina exhaust and was quoted $300 by a shop here in Houston for install. Just wanted to do a quick check to see if that was reasonable. Anyone else in Houston have a shop they can recommend?

Thanks.

The site states 45 min so that's a pretty good buck.

My dealer installed mine when I bought the car. He charged $100.

That sounds fair. That's lower than what is typically charged for a Porsche or other exotic car. It usually takes a couple hrs.

Thanks. This was helpful. They have a great rep and work on high end exotics so prob worth the price. Dealer just quoted me $400.

I think that's crazy. The dealer should simply charge the normal labor rate for however long it takes to install, and it takes less than an hour to install. It's a no-brainer install. Lots of guys on this forum installed it themselves.

You know... I don't disagree with you. The guys I work with who go to this shop think its standard but they are Porsche guys. I would think $150 for a hours work would be sufficient but the shop insists that he needs all day with it. Dealer price is absurd.

My dealer had never installed one before. In fact, they had never even seen one before. Therefore, they took a lot of extra time to do it, and it still only took them an hour.
