Default Exterior and Interior Color Codes

I was surprised after doing an Advanced Search that there were no threads about exterior color codes. Most of you are aware of this, but if you're not here's what you need to know.

The X150 comes from the factory in a variety of shades of black, gray, red, blue, green, and white. If you're not sure of the exact name of your exterior or interior colors, and want to know the official Jaguar names, it's on a plate in the driver's door jamb. Paint codes can be either 3 digits long and contain numbers and/or letters, or they may contain four digits consisting of numbers only. Decipher your paint codes here:

The factory Jaguar paint and trim codes are ALWAYS 3-letter codes and they are generally on the door jamb or on the B pillar, and on older cars often on the inside edge of the driver's door. The codes are essential because Jaguar often used the same name for different colour tones ("British Racing Green" is a good example) which varied from model to model and/or year to year. The British Racing Green Metallic on an X-Type, for example, is not the same as British Racing Green Metallic on an F-Type and they therefore have different 3-letter codes.

The 4 digit codes are not Jaguar codes; they are the codes of paint suppliers and they are never found on the vehicles. They can only be used if you also have the manufacturer's name (Glasurit, or DuPont, for example, along with the code).
The 3-letter code found on the Jaguar's data tag is all that is needed.

I simply repeated what that website said about the codes. My point is that you can find the name of your color on that website.

This Forum is amazing - to have experts like sov211 who can provide details from their experience and knowledge that's nowhere to be found on the internet.

They also use the same code for different names - my F-Type is Glacier White (1AQ/NAK) which is now listed as Yulong White.

I wonder what that list is actually for because it seems to have some colours listed that were used on the X100 not the X150 used e.g. Carnival. My 98 XJR was Carnival but I can't see it listed in any of the X150 brochures. Pacific, Adriatic and Phoenix are other examples.

The part system has a more accurate list. I have crossed referenced it against the X150 brochures and the only one not listed is Osmium Blue which was available in the 2014 MY:

Curious as the doc was produced in 2003 and revised in 2005. Mine's in storage so I didn't check the codes on my car against the codes in this list.
