Sell the old one, buy a new one. It will be much cheaper, easier and more gooder. Also gives you an excellent opportunity to buy a 5.0 /R model.

Converting to series one facelift isn’t hard at all as you retain guards, lights and bonnet it’s just a bumper upgrade however forget converting to series two facelift it’s a whole replacement of front end then attempting to wiring up the newer headlights

Bahh,,,, if yor handy u can do allmost anything with the front. a cutter and little glassfiber
And the headlights in saftey mode crappy oem,, atleast for me that lives in sweden and drives year around,, here is very dark in winter and HI beam is a joke.
I put some led Laser projector lens 5500k 100W straigt inside the AFS module. . Works like a charm,, and when i was inside anyway i moved the turnlight to cornering and fitted a led lens "daylight" instead of turnsignal.

My advice is generally against these modifications from a financial standpoint. You can swap to a later XK or XKR, likely for less money than doing a nice swap; and you’ll preserve the resale. Often a modern era car that has been updated to a later cosmetic spec goes for less money than either the stock earlier or later spec. You also get the improvements of the later cars in addition to the cosmetics included in the buying a different car that you don’t get in the swap.

If you do these customizations, know that it’s a labor of love and do it because you want to. It’s absolutely doable but unless you’re doing the glass and paintwork yourself, it’s likely not fiscally cheaper.

btw - Sharp car Roger!

As long as you love it second hand value is a later problem. It might even be easier to sell as it looks sharp! :-)
We should meet up in spring as I only live 30km from you.

Roger, beauty as they say is in the eyes.....so as long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters *

And then there's the time.effort and joy of having a 'one of a kind'. 15yrs back I spent almost £15k modding an MX-5 (SC/racing harts/custom header and zaust) but then sold it in 2007 when we adopted our kids. Sold for just £7k and I wasn't fussed.

*That said, unlike Peter, I am not taken with the look of your car, to my mind that huge grill ruins the grace of the vehicle

Hi Mark. Sad to read that u had to sell it. Do you have a picture? Would be fun too see it. I have also a mx5 ,, 2017. Very nice and fun to drive, but of couse it cant beat my keeper. The mx5 is also hard to modiy to one of a kind.
