Default Fuse 19 removed and replaced

with a line fuse and switch. I removed the fuse and replaced it with a blown fuse then I soldered a wire to each side of the fuse and run one one wire to a line fuse and then on to a switch placed in the side of the center consul then from the switch back to the other side of the blown fuse which is then incerted in the fuse box, this way it is protected when the exhaust is turned back on to normal. Buy the way I love the Rap when the exhaust is turned off.but it could be louder. BL.

Nice job and pics! Must of been scary, just before drilling through the leather huh? I also like the lighted switch.

On my 2013XKR with performance exhaust when I put the car in "S" with dynamic mode (checkered flag) on the exhaust valves stay open and the sound is so much better than my previous XKR175. No need to remove fuse 19 and install a switch on the MY13. However, nice work.

Try the same thing with Fuse 14 in the driver's footwell. Isn't that for the active suspension control?

I've tried unplugging the fuse between drives and it works to firm up the suspension. However, I'm afraid to wire in a switch and turn the circuit on/off on the fly while driving.

If you do pull the fuse though, you can have the exhaust note without the hard ride when in town. I can't see why anyone wants it off. Its only loud with heavy throttle use anyway. Love the way it pops and bangs.

Here is another option that requires no cutting and is completely reversible.

I totaly agree with you since installed I have not switched it on I would like it even louder, the reason I put the switch in was I did not want to give any excuse for any warranty problems, when taking it in for service I can turn it on , also I wanted the protection of the fuse so I installed the line fuse. I'll be getting a MY11 XKR shortly. I'm keen on the louder engine note - I'm made for the V8 noise and prefer it at low speeds which stops me hitting it hard to get the note. Am I just able to pull fuse 19, and leave it out? Sorry, I'm not particularly savvy when it comes to this...

We should put a note on the top of each thread that says these workarounds are only for 4.2L X150s!

Lousy 5.0L owners trying to get in on the fun....

Dont feel too bad. I had the paramount exhaust on my 4.2 XF. It sounded awesome, like an Aston. I put it on the 5 litre when I got it, and it didnt sound anywhere near as good. I think that the throb from the 4.2 sounds a bit better, not as tinny as the 5 litre
