Does the glove box socket work different than the cig socket, fitted my dash cam and plugged it into the glove socket, seems that if it's in the cigarette lighter socket it will stay on till the car is locked, if it's in the glove socket it switches off when the car is turned off, strange.

 

Mine both go on when you open the door and go off when you close and lock the door.If you don't lock the door they stay hot until the systems shut down. Ignition does not have to be on.
