Default Gotta get out

Well it's been over a week since I went for a drive so I need to look at taking the car out this week. It just seems even being retired I get tied up in various projects which keeps me from taking a ride. I'll just have to rearrange my priorities I guess to make some drive time. I got more seat time in my truck then the car.

You're lucky anyway. The wife contacted our auto insurance company and my XKR has had an OBDII monitor on it for over two months now, with another month to go. They monitor Hard Braking (five mph change within one second), Rapid Acceleration (four mph change within one second), Miles Driven and Time Driven Between Midnight and 4AM. Those last two I'm not worried about, but boy-howdy those first two are a real killer.
Being real careful and pretty much dealing with a garage ornament by driving my truck nearly everywhere, ONE Hard Braking event in just over 100 miles dropped my possible 30% off the policy went down to 21%.
I dread to see what a 0-60 in four seconds would do to it.

Why would you plug one of those in . Then again just unplug it . If your insurance is that high you may need to by a toyota. We have 4 cars for the 2 of us and I don't recall the car insurance going up to much when we added the jag.

Let's see the choices here:
a. New insurance company
b. New wife

Choice 'a' is probably cheaper in the long run.
I know what I'd be telling my agent if they tried to pull such a stunt on me.

I just don't understand why anybody would tolerate that kind of reporting if it wasn't an absolute necessity.

Who knew Big Brother would turn out to be the insurance companies.

I personally would never allow that sort of impediment on my freedom. To save a few bucks a year?!

It's a Jag Sports Car not a minivan!

That's one problem, we have seven vehicles for just us two. The actual cost isn't a problem for me, but old wifey-pooh absolutely hates paying anything more than she has to for any/everything. It drives me crazy sometimes. Two things on the not-too-bad side, one of the other seven cars is my street/strip drag car; and it's not quite "spring" here yet. If I absolutely need a neck-snapping and adrenaline pumping for a few minutes, I'll hop into the strip car and do a couple 0-60s in about 2 seconds each. But man oh man, I sure do need some cruise time with the top down. I do have almost 200 miles in the past 70 days, but most of those days were still cold and wet here in northern Utah.
In summary, I can wait another three weeks taking it easy just to make wifey happy for awhile.

So this is a 'winter' thing? Getting a low rate on a vehicle that you claim won't be used for that 3 month period?

Nooooo!!!!! When the temp is up and the weather clear and sunny, I'll take 'er out for a nice ride year round. Right now I just don't want to tempt my right foot. Plus, it isn't really a matter of saving any money to me, the wife and I are mostly in a little competition. I'm at 22% and she's at 17% on her Lexus. The tracker won't work on my F-250 for some reason, so I use that. Good thing, because I bring my dogs to the dog park every day, and that's a 12 mile round trip.
Regardless of all this, I STILL want to go wreak some havoc! Three weeks to wait.

had a hard rain last week, washed away the last of the road salt. I took a break from my other projects, and went for my first extensive ride since I took delivery.

Two hours of mostly country driving. 7 inches of snow and counting today. Sigh...

OK got out today for a 2 hour run. Covered city/highway driving and also exercised my right foot. All is well and filled it up on the way home. Weather is breaking and it looks like spring may hit. All of the golf courses have opened around here so life is good. Oh great top down 70* today. Enjoy the drive.
