Those red and green illuminated grille badges appear to violate US automotive lighting laws since they're the same color as emergency vehicle lights. Do you want to risk getting a ticket or having your car impounded?

Amber or white would be better.

I went ghetto and put a white round CFL directly around my front emblem. I say 'ghetto', but it looks really cool. I do like the LED backed ones though. I thought about making my own like that ten years ago when I bought the car. There were none in the universe at that time.
Ah, progress.

Through the grill and over to the right side running lights.
I have a couple pics, but none to show what it actually looks like. A person can't really tell anything is different without looking closely during the day it fits so well. At night it adds some impact. The night picture is from before I changed the headlights from OEM to a whiter light which matches better. I'll go get a better picture when I get a chance. I truly don't remember where I got them, they are like 90mm. I do believe there is a thread in this forum all about them.
ALSO, since 'ten years ago' there are probably some much better options in LED. This one has a lightless section on the bottom where the connections were made.

Forgive the dirt, it's been cold and snow around here lately.

what is the process to wire them to the running lights?

I've seen some led emblems that can be connected directly into the engine fuse box, seems easier I'd think

I ran the negative to a good ground and spliced the positive into a positive lead for the right park/running light using one of those crappy taps. I did tape the heck out of it and zip tie in securely together. The CCFL I used had the ballast half-way down the positive lead so I had to cut it off, run the wire through the grill hole and resolder it with heat shrink.

I don't know the sizes as there are three sizes of badge diameters, but this is close to what I bought. Again, new LED lights may be better.

hm yea anyone have an idea what kind of connector would be needed to just run something like that into the fuse box, sounds a bit easier than all the splicing/soldering shenanigans

I found the updated light of mine on Amazon. Of course it may be way too complicated for some people to install...

Aww c’mon CeeJay! We want a simple plug n play that requires none of the shenanigans. I mean why should I have to peel an orange in this day and age?

could you not just connect the wires into
this this
and plug into engine fuse box?
if so why go splicing and dicing into your car's native component wiring?

Hey, if you can find a fuse connection that comes FROM the lights switch, go for it. Every fusible anything I've ever experienced comes before the switch.
And it's not 'splicing and dicing', it's one inline clip that leaves the original wire intact (mostly).
