Default help with hard reset

Hi guys, I replaced my battery but did not put the car in sleep mode prior to the change. I was told by a Jaguar technician that there is a specific sleep mode sequence protocol that must be followed. My right passenger window will not roll up down even though I have re calibrated the window. Can anyone point me to the correct procedure? thank u

I've never heard of a 'sleep mode' for replacing the battery. Jaguar recommends doing a Charging System Reset with SDD, but that's all I know.

I've also had problems with resetting the windows, but I've found this to work best....... Pull up on whatever switch and hold it for a few seconds after the window is up, then release it. Then hold UP again for another few seconds. Same with Down...... do it the once and then do it AGAIN when the window is still down. Then repeat the process one more time, first UP twice then DOWN twice.

2010 and up need the reset because of the Battery Monitoring system. I didn't do the reset on my 2010 2.5 years ago. So far so good...

I doubt that the battery reset makes any difference if you're regularly using a CTEK or similar battery maintainer.

I kept the battery terminals attached to the battery tender as I replaced the battery. However I did notice that the windows were not functioning properly and the gas pedal response seems a bit off. I was thinking a hard reset and recal of systems might help.

If you had anything open on the car (like the boot) then a battery tender probably didn't supply enough amperage to maintain all the memory. You (probably) inadvertently did a hard reset. That would account for the windows and the ECU losing what it learned of your driving style.

As timing would have it, I just did a "touch the cables together" reset. Seemed to work great.
Only things I lost: trip odometer, clock, power windows were no longer one-touch. Thirty seconds to get all that set back up. Things I still had: radio and seat presets. And -- at least so far -- it seems to have solved my "no touchscreen" issue.
