Talking HELP: Is there a simple A2DP Bluetooth Music stream solution ?

Checked the threads and seems to be a lot of conjecture on the issue.

I a have a 2010 XKR and using an iPhone 5. Would like to stream music via Bluetooth such as pandora etc.

Any constructive advise would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Default Tune2air

Currently streaming in my gt with tune 2 air no problems at all and great sound. The only thing is whatever app you plan to use for music in car you would need to make sure all other music apps are off as it might try to access them as you switch tracks.

I bought a couple Blackberry Stereo gateways. One for the home, the other for the car.... Haven't tried the Jag yet, as I still have to install the Audio Control Module as well.

Should be simple to try if you already have the ACM (not standard on my 2007....)

I have one of those and used it in my XF. It worked however would not always automatically reconnect and I lost interest to further troubleshoot the issue and now run just memory sticks.

Default Tune2Air works for me

My 2009 XKR only had the standard ipod connection so I landed up getting a little device called Tune2Air

Tune2Air WMA1000 Bluetooth Music Receiver, Support Airplay, Audi-A2DP, Mercedes-A2DP and VW-A2DP - PRODUCT - ViseeO Worldwide Official Site

Works perfectly and also allows the phone to work too !!

I'm pleased with it and it didn't cost a lot !!

...and I just tried the Tune2air with my iPhone 5 and 2012 XKR-S. Pandora will only play for one second and then stops.

What the f*#*!!!

Pairing is successful, the Bluetooth is working, but the iPhone just won't stream. Same thing happens when I use the cord with a Lightning adapter.

Help!

When you say "use the cord", is that when you connect it to the Jag iPod port via the Lightning adaptor? If that's the case, the Tune2air is not likely to be the problem; it would suggest there's an iPhone 5 compatibility issue. Or your audio system needs a reset - yoink, wait 30s then replace: fuses 21 (blue) & 24 (red) in the rear-seat fuse box.

Correct, same issue whether I'm connecting the Jag cord to the Tune2Air or to the Lightning adapter. The cord works fine with a (30 pin) iPod Nano, full functionality.

Streaming is the problem.

Yeah - I'd try the reset, see if it works.

Yah, BigD... nothing else is happening on the iPhone, just Pandora. Mixing up the activation order (starting Pandora before even opening the car door) doesn't make a difference, either. Shut down iPhone, restarted, no change. Pairing is perfect between the car and the Tune2Air, there are no problems docking the device via Bluetooth... but there's something else going on.

This is from the helpful folks at Pandora, who surprisingly replied to my email within a day:

Hi Rich,

Thanks for writing. A lot of "iPod/iPhone-compatible" docks and accessories have built-in software that trigger the onboard "iPod" MP3 music player on the iPhone, interrupting Pandora (or other audio software), since third-party audio apps like ours weren't a big deal when the accessory was designed.

You might be able to get it working by following a particular set of steps (e.g., connect the phone, then launch Pandora) but often it will only work correctly some of the time. Ultimately the manufacturer of the dock is the best place to go to find out how to get third-party apps working.

Hope this helps. Thanks for listening!

Best,

It's a shame. The tiny fragment of music that plays sounds great.
