Trying to keep up with automotive infotainment tech is a bit of a fools errand imo. Back in 2007 when my car was built, MySpace was the go to social media platform, the iPhone was just released, Android OS was created.

All that in a scant 11 years, and those are just a few examples. Yet we'll keep trying. The Android TV Box link that Cee Jay provided will stop gap some of our needs for some time, but even that will become outdated before long, except for maybe the most basic functions like back up camera and gauges. These are not infotainment functions though and are the most important I think.

I have seen some interesting things done with C5 Corvettes, which are older than the XK.

For me, an electronic sliding cover that makes it disappear except when I want it would be nice.

I live in a pretty part of the world with beautiful trees.

Its something I miss about my old 996 Porsche the center stack was easily configarable to make room for a double DIN head unit then every few years you could just the chnage the unit if you wanted.

I gotta admit that I'm in a different dimension here regarding any infotainment system. Until several years ago all it was , was a radio. So the system I have now is more then enough for radio and nav. and occasionally a CD. Just my 2 cents. Oh my carrier just made me change my samsung flip phone as they will discontinue supporting them at the end of this year.

I don't honestly understand what the fuss is about, when I bought my X100 in 2005 I defo didn't want even Nav, as preferred the 6 dials.

I must be a fossil at 53!

To be honest, the Nav in the X100s pretty much sucked. Jag Wrangler (aka White XKR aka Steve) even sells a Nav - to Triple Gauge setup for them.
