I got into my 07 XK the other day and the current location of the car in the Navigation systems is way off. Not just a little, but miles off. So if I try to use the Navigation, the turn by turn is way off. Is there are way to reset the system so it starts with the correct location of the car?
In the navigation set-up menu you will find “calibration”, which works fairly intuitively.

Ken's question surprised me as I've never needed to do this even when travelling through Eurotunnel from England to France (30 miles) or Mont Blanc Tunnel (7 miles) from Switzerland to Italy. The navigation has calibrated itself to the new location in a few minutes each time although changing discs is required as UK, France and Italy are spread across three of the four discs in the European set..

I suspect that water has corroded your GPS antenna under the rear spoiler and it will no longer be able to determine its correct location. Exactly the same happened to our 2006 XK. I replaced the antenna with a much better modern one which is mounted within the boot and can never suffer the same fate as the original. The total cost of replacement was $25 and it takes about 5 minutes to unplug the old antenna and plug in the new one. I posted the details a year or so ago.
Interesting. The antenna fault explanation makes sense. My car was trucked a year ago from Florida to Texas and I never had to re-calibrate the navigation.

I used the recalibration once before when my Nav was a little off. Now, I'm miles off. I will try it again.

Interesting, I will look into the antenna replacement, too.
Because every once in a while, my navigation system will get lost somehow somewhere - a phenomenon I never had before with any of my cars, including the two prior XKRs.
Locking down the car for a little while will initiate a re-start of the system with the correct location; otherwise I have to “recalibrate”…
Note, however, this is the one and only complaint I might have about my “old” XKR 4.2.
When it plays up have you had a look in the touchscreen 'secret' menu to see what info it has on the satellites, like how many it can see and where it thinks you are?
It has taken me a while, but I finally resolved the problem. I replaced the GPS antenna (Part # C2P24351) and the Navigation immediately started working as it should. Attached is a pic of the old antenna. I would add "Resolved" to the title of this thread, but I don't know how to do that.
Thanks for everyone's help!!!
Ken
