installed new battery.
1. When reconnected screen showed a red and green bar. T chose green and (aged). Its been flashing and showing data for well over 1/2 hour. Did I miss or do somethinbg wrong? The sound is like when its loading a CD.
2. The back windows don't go up when I raise the top.
I read to do a hard or soft reset (various versions) like leaving a door open and disconnecting the - for 120 seconds or disconnecting both + and - cables and touching them together. I hate taking this apart again to do that if I don't have to. Also read its in the manaul and it isn't.
HELP

Reason: update to original post
Are you absolutely certain beyond any possibility whatsoever and willing to stake your life on the fact that your 'new' battery is FULLY and COMPLETELY charged?
It MUST have 12.6 volts or more or it will cause electrical problems on any of a dozen or more systems.
Batteries sit for a LONG time between initial manufacture and the retail sale. Very rarely are they fully charged when purchased.
1. Disconnect the battery from the cabling.
2. Touch the cables together to discharge any capacitance.
3. Confirm health of battery by performing a voltage reading at 12.6v
4. Reconnect cables.
5. Do not depress brake pedal, and depress and release start button.
6. Wait for all dings and chimes to finish.
7. Depress start button then press brake pedal.
Vroom... Then perform your window, etc resets.
Go for that drive.
I do not see it in the user manual. I looked everywhere. There is no switch for the the rear windows on the convertible. They go up with the top. The front windows work fine
By doing so, you will now need to let the battery "rest" for 6 hours. That means NOT on any charger. Any reading immediately after any charging is irrelevant.
We really need a voltage reading from a multimeter.
Incidentally, these two pages are commonly overlooked. I tend to use the "resetting the switch" option as it has the effect of powering up all modules "before" starting the engine. And that includes pressuring up the fuel rail.
I had found that page in the manual but thought it was to reset the anti trap and was referring to only the forward windows. The battery was at 95% when placed on the trickle charge. I do not have a multimeter. It's an Interstate Battery which is all I buy. My last one lasted 9 years

The rear windows won’t work until you reset the front windows.

I recently disconnected my battery for a few hours and had the same rear windows on a convertible problem you describe. I sat holding the close button for the top for about 60 seconds, you know how long that feels, and eventually they just came up and have worked fine since .
Windows and top up and down now - Thanks everyone. Now my new dilemma. After testing I had to reinstall the cardboard / rug covered backer board so I had to remove the luggage rack. Now I can't get it back in and get messages and top wont go down. i know its the back bar. Getting aggrevated. Anyone have pictures ?
Windows solved. Next issue is my multi disc cd player. Read and tried removing the fuse and reinserting. Did not work. Sounds like its trying to load. Some cd's play for a few seconds etc. Any ideas?

Try ejecting all of them and make sure nothing is gummed up inside from dirty disks?
