Can you recommend any part suppliers that ship worldwide? I currently live in Abu Dhabi, UAE and my garage has given me a long list of things that they require to fix the engine on my 2007 XKR 4.2, however they can't find the parts here.

Wow, that’s quite a list. It might be easier to find a good used engine with low miles.

 

The block will need to be re sleeved or a general clean up of the bores and standard piston to be fitted if still in spec no one offered 50thou over unless you find a manufacturer that will be able to go custom . (5l have the option of obtaining over bore )
in regards to the main bearings there will be a good on your block as to which combination as there as 3 different 'colours' available for the xk/xkr (same crank)

Whilst the principal of rebuilding ICE are the same I would only let someone with previous experience on go near these and having said that if they are competent sourcing the parts will be very very time consuming.

The time it takes rebuilding and price weigh up the option of a) second hand engine or b) obtaining a short block from jaguar (usually around 10-12k USD ) and use existing heads .

What's the reason for this rebuild have you lost compression in one or more of the cylinders?
