Hi All.
I have just purchased a 2012 Jaguar XKR Coupe 5.0
The electronic park brake pull up handle is scratched. How can I remove it to have it re chromium plated. Or is it advisable to replace?
Please advise.

You need to remove the centre console trim and unbolt the whole control unit with the JaguarDrive selector and the EPB handle. I can't see instructions for disassembling the unit - it may be obvious once you have it out.

 

I don' t think so. AFAIK The parking brake lever and the cup below it are separate from the shift unit - and the parking brake lever assembly is simply held by 4 screws and its electrical connector. It is probably cheaper (and definitely easier) to replace the lever and its cup rather than having it rechromed. You do have to remove the wood panel around the shifter unit, but that is simply held by clips - you gently pry it up beginning at the ashtray end. The whole job will take about 10 minutes to do.
