Victor there was a time not so long ago that even Rolls Royce did not have such a beautiful interior and exterior.

It looks like someone saved it in brand new condition just for you.

Great color combination.

Great car, terrific color combination. Jaguar like to do press introductions in either Spain or Portugal, I can't remember which. With a little research you may be able to find out where it is and "test" your xk out in the same place and roads. Have fun!!

Bought mine on June 15th, a loaded coupe, just a few days after you. Feels like something special every time I get in it.

Same colour combo as mine.

The X150 was launched to the press in South Africa. On 12 January 2006 Jaguar set up the press launch, many journalists going there during late January through end February.

Yeah, I still grin every time too. I think your blue coupe really show off the lines of the car, it was the color I wanted if I could not find one in Winter Gold.

That is one beautiful car. I have exact same interior 2008 hard top. Enjoy.

Just in case any one looking for an XKR found this in Phoenix Craigslist.

hey everyone... First, Congrats on your new XKR! I am looking into purchasing a same model year, same color combo (beautiful) hardtop, from private party with over 130K miles.

My question(s) to anyone on here - HELP!

1) What did you look out for when deciding on purchasing a used model? How many miles on yours?

2) Did you consider maintenance costs? (I cant seem to find a thread with avg maintenance costs for regular services)

3) Convertible vs Hardtop?

4) What should I ask the seller?

Ask for a service history, and make sure that regular maintenance was done especially oil changes.

with respect to mine 66k miles and full Jaguar main dealer history with only 3 owners, it was quite apparent having looked round that the previous owners treated the car well and was in fact the last owners pride & joy. Check for seat wear edges especially the drivers seat didn't really check for maintenance costs as i fell in love with the particular one I found.

Thank you guys.

Should I be concerned that it has over 130k miles for under $15k?

Why not get the car inspected at a local Jaguar dealer? It will cost around $250. Then you could go to jaguar approved body shop to see what they say. Shouldn't cost more than another $200 - $250.
With proper maintenance these cars are very reliable. Good luck and good hunting.

Good idea on the inspection.

i guess the real question I want to ask is should I move from this XKR with that many miles... over 130k..... or am I opening myself up for maintenance issues rental current owner is trying to avoid?

Congrats on the new Jag. Since you have the shifter (and not the pop-up rotary knob) you are able to add this lovely knob: British Autowood > Gearknobs

Default How lucky are we?

michaelodonnell123: Thanks for the idea, I appreciated, but I think I'll stay with my shifter to keep the car as close as possible to the original.

Guys,
Although I do think it is a good idea to go for the inspection beforehand, I must say that I haven't done it. This was such a rare opportunity that I took the car for a ride and made the business with the man on the same day...and had a discount of 5000€.

Needless to say that in the present market status, a car like this is not easy to sell in Portugal (annual taxes, fuel prices: 1,5€ per liter of unleaded 95oct against 1,3€ for diesel, maintenance costs and insurance)

An XKR for under 15k? I wouldn't be worried too much, because if I wanted to import that particular car, It would cost me 27588.53€ in taxes only...

You just don't know how lucky you are, for not living in such an overtaxed country like mine...

Take a look at the prices of the only 6 XKRs available here:

https://www.standvirtual.com/carros/...new_used%5D=on

I bought mine, for the price of a new XE... a bargain, I would dare to say...
