Default loud noise hitting puddles

Gooday. We've had a fair bit of rain here recently and I've noticed that when the Jag hits a sheet of water on the road (like enough to make a big splash) there is a loud noise of water hitting the underside of the car coming from the offside front wheel area. I don't get it on the drivers side (RHS), though because of the camber of the road there is less water sitting on the RHS. I didn't know whether it was normal or maybe something has fallen off down there. It sounds pretty much the same as when you hose the car. It's probably more noticeable because the Jags I've had have very little road noise coming through.

Anyone get the same?

It is probably a sheet of water hitting the underbody shields or wheel well shields. Noise from these areas is easily transmitted.

Cheers, that's what I guessed, but it is odd it only seems to happen on one side

The aluminum does not dampen sound like the steel does; it magnifies!!
Not to worry; enjoy the ride and looks..........truly a magnificent vehicle.

Just a thought - perhaps the wheel arch splash shield or the underbody panel on that side is missing a screw or clip, giving it more opportunity to 'drum' when hit by a spray of water.

Good point. I'll have it checked at its service next month. It sounds more like it is under the passenger side floor, but you never know.
