Default Love my new baby!!

I finally took delivery of my 2013 XK on Tuesday. I would be posting pictures, but so far, all I've been able to do is stare at it with a huge smile on my face (at least, at such times when I'm able to pick my jaw off the floor.) Oh my god, this car is sooooooooooo beautiful, and sooooooooooo soulful. Will have pictures by the weekend.

The dealer installed the Mina Gallery exhaust prior to my coming to pick it up, and all I can say is that's the best $1075 I've ever spent in my entire life. It totally makes the car...in every way. If you have an XK, get the Mina exhaust! The people at the dealership had never seen one before, and they were amazed at both the looks and the sound. They think it has a better sound than the XKR-S.

The only issue I had was with the Kasuga wheels that I bought from a 3rd party vendor. The finish was messed up on two of the wheels, so I have to send them back to be redone. So, for now, I'm living with the Oronas that came with the car.

A couple of other comments: The Nav display system is so damn clunky. The stupid animation that they have, when going from one screen to another, is totally pointless. It accomplishes nothing positive, and slows everything down. The most ridiculous part of all though, is that when you change the volume level, the screen is over taken by a visual volume level display, which brings everything else to a stop. Note to Jaguar: "Volume is something you hear. It's not something you see. I can use my ears to know if I'm making the volume louder or softer."

Ok, now that that's out of my system, I have to say that the audio system sounds AMAZING!!

I would write more, but I need to go into the garage again and stare at that amazing creation.

No pics? You've been waiting for months, I would have figured you'd have the camera set on a tripod in the garage for the last 2 weeks.

I've been considering the Mina exhaust, but so far I can't find anybody with the 5L XK who can compare the stock exhaust to it. I don't race the car around or anything, but I'd like to not lose too much power on the low end (something that the Mina is reported to do on the 4.2L engine). Any thoughts on that at all?

Congratulations =]

I don't have anything to compare it to, because I never drove the car with the stock exhaust. I can tell you that just with the looks and sound alone, it's worth the price of admission. I do hear and feel a slight drone around 1200-1400 RPM, but when I hear it, I simply tap on the left paddle. From what I can tell, that drone comes into play when the car is accelerating from 4th gear or higher. One tap of the paddle immediately solves the issue.

Sounds exactly what I observed with my 4.2 liter but, I would think the higher power and torque of the 5 liter would minimize that loss of low end power and resulting drone. I basically learned to use the downshift and the DS mode, just like you, to get me out of the really low RPM ranges.

Congrats on the gorgeous car and welcome to the "club of husbands making strange and repeated trips to the garage", as seen by the wives. Why are those husband disappear into the garage for long periods of times and found with salivating lips staring at a solid object...???? Well, don't try explaining it, they will never understand....:-)

Are your Orona wheels painted or polished?

What's not to love. Now all you have to do is get used to all the people staring at you as you drive by.

They are not polished. They have the diamond/machined finish.

Congratulations on your new car! That Mina Gallery exhaust is a piece of art and the sound is incredible.

Perhaps you could post some comparison pics?

Here are bunch of pictures. Because the paint is a metallic finish, the car changes colors, depending on the light. So, I took pics in different lighting conditions.

Sorry, but I have no comparison pics. I had the dealer install the Mina before I picked it up. I'm pretty sure that everyone already knows what the stock looks like, though.
