Hey all, I bought two XK's (2007/2008).

My car is a 2007 Jaguar XK Coupe, and although I like the styling I'd like to add a little more aggression to the vehicle. Is there any online stores in the U.S. that deals with exterior customization? I'm not looking for anything drastic, I'd just like to add a front and rear diffuser.

The searches I've done only lands me to U.K. based retailers and I'd rather deal with U.S. based retailers.

To differentiate yourself a bit from Grandma, consider an exhaust change/upgrade. You can get a more aggressive sound that people will notice, even if they're not looking at your car. Do a search, you'll find a variety of options, and opinions, on this forum.

 

May I digress and take this opportunity to remark that this is one of the most heart warming Jaguar stories of all time. That we should all draw something from. Man sells Bentley to buy Himself and Grandmother identical Jaguars. Such is the Jaguar heritage and attraction, it spans 3 generations- simultaneously.

 

Also... post some pictures of your cars... and Grandma too!

Thanks everyone. I don't mind importing, the only thing is I hate the wait. As for pictures, I'd love to but I'm in Europe and both were bought sight unseen from me. (My grandmother picked both up.). Both had clean carfaxes if that's any consolation. I'll be back stateside December-ish if all goes after plan, pictures will be posted in droves.

Here's what I'd like to do to mine: Front and rear diffuser, muffler system, slight interior modification. (Not a fan of the wood grain, looking at this.) I'm also considering some dim ambient lighting (blue?).

If anyone has any suggestions as to exhaust, I'd love to hear it. Something with a nice tone, but not too loud. Hate being obnoxious.

As for the reason me buying a car for my grandmother is she's the one who is a true Jaguar fan, but for some reason never had one. I started looking for a more reliable replacement for my B:GT and found two alternatives that I fell in love with. The extended wheel base XJ or the F-Type. But I knew the second I'd buy one for myself, my grandmother would see this and I'd end up with a bad conscience. She's sacrificed a lot for me, so it's the least I can do.

As for lap times, I don't mind if she beats me in a car but I'll be hard pressed to let her beat me on two wheels!

As others have said, Mina Gallery in Reseda, California, is your best bet for finding the customization you want. I have the front (old style) splitter and side skirts (like those on the XKR175) and I have a rear bumper/diffuser from F/X Designs out of Chicago. Mina also has a bolt on rear diffuser that is very nice and a newer style front splitter. Go to their website and check it out. Chris at Mina, also has items that don't appear on the website, so you have to ask some questions if you don't find what you want. I really admire people who customize their cars to make it their own. Below are some pictures of the few things I've done to mine, including several emblems, black hood vents, splitter, side skirts etc. Hope this helps with some of your decisions. I also added drilled and slotted rotors.

 

Also check Adamesh in the UK. They ship by air, though costly, I have gotten things from them within 2-3 days and their prices are competitive.

 

Also, don't forget about OEM Jaguar parts, both new and used.
You have an XK (which we haven't seen yet) so there are some XKR and optional parts that can change the look and sound of your car.
For example the exhaust. You can change the back box, as I did, to one from an XKR. You now have quad tips instead of dual. An enhanced sound, as the 'active' exhaust flaps are always open. You can buy these new for ~$1500, or find one / ask for one on the classified ads section of these forums (that's how I got mine), or sometimes they pop up on eBay, for much less. The XKR rear diffuser can be bought online for under $50.
An XKR front bumper or hood/bonnet would also change the look to more aggressive.
Another thing is wheels. Do the ones already on the car satisfy you? Mine came with 19" Carelia's, but I always liked the look of the 20" Senta's. Just scored a set on eBay.
The taillights, do you like the look of the newer LED units? Those can also be gotten and installed.

So just saying, OEM is another option, if it has the look/sound you're after.

I'd like to make the stock XK look a little more like the XKR as that's the down tempo look I'm aiming for. I would love to install the LED tail lights, is there any difference to the newer XK headlights VS the 07's?

I've already got a set of wheels in mind, a simple five spoke rim (similar) would look nice I believe.

Unfortunately the newer headlights are not a direct fit, they are a different size, so fenders, bumper, and maybe even the hood has to change (it has been done, you can find it in one of the threads of this forum).

Several dealers sell parts online, I think the one in Las Vegas is the one I got my XKR rear diffuser from (compare prices, and go for the best deal).
Another source is SNG Barratt, where I got the LED taillights (and wiring harness).

 

Thanks KJ. Just took a look online and there doesn't seem to be that big of a change between the two (look wise) so I don't even know if I'd care to attempt the change.
