Default New Takomas waiting for new tires

After years of waiting I found a very nice set of Takoma here at the forum.

They came without tires so I just purchased a set of Sumitomo HTR Z5 XL (Tirerack, arriving next Monday) I always used continental extreme contact, so I wanted to try something different. Any experience with them?

Would you keep the original rims and tires (19 artura) or would you sell it? Would selling the original wheels impact the car value (the window sticker a mentions the artura).

I kept my original 19’s (Carrelia) when I put 20’s (Senta) on mine. Figured I would put the 19’s back on if I sold the car, and then sell the 20’s separately.

I have the sumitomos on my 2008 XK, 20" wheels. I have no complaints concerning performance, I do push them quite hard.
Having said that, I do not think I'll be getting more than @ 15K miles out of them, also I had to replace a pair due to road hazard and one of them was not round. The supplier replaced it but with my crude measuring I saw @ 5/16 OOR which felt like a slight tingle.

Default Takoba

I recently put a set of 20" Takobas on my XKR Portfolio. I like the Takobas more then the Selena rims on the Portfolios. However, after switching, I noticed the offsets were different...the tires were tucked more inside the wheel wells, so I went through a few experiments with spacers. Ended up with 20mm spacers on the rear and 5mm on the front. I have Sumitomos on the car, but they seemed to wear quickly, so I'm going to try the Continentals next.

Thanks, Marco75, what year is your car? If it's the same model as mine I'll probably go for the spacers as well. I always used Continentals and I was happy with them, these are my first Sumitomo, let's see how it goes.
