Default No driving today

Well we have over 12" of snow so far and it is still snowing. I just cam in from digging my PU truck out so I can plow in an hour or two. By then we'll have maybe 16" if it keeps going at this rate. Maybe if I hook the plow up to the XKR I'll be able to clean my driveway faster , hahaha. So for us in the north east take it easy and hopefully the snow will end soon. In the mean time I will polish my golf clubs because spring is near. Here is my opinion of the snow.

I live north of Salt Lake City, Utah, where the 2002 Winter Olympics were held.
Right now at 11 AM, it's 53F and bright and sunny. No snow (other than a dusting) since Dec 25th.
GREAT driving weather!
I feel for ya.

Chicago area here so just got 18" yesterday.

Drove her into work this morning so no problems here, just stayed on the main roads that were plowed.

Had to run out to get gas for the snow blower and the wife wanted her coffee during the main snow. Took the jag because we couldn't get the wife's Charger up the driveway. Guess it's time to add a little weight to the rear of the Charger. She's got all seasons so the winter tires do make a difference.

Been lucky with snow so far this year but I guess we were due. Try not to take it out in the heavy stuff especially when she is all nice and clean in the garage. I know the car can handle it but don't want to use the front of the car as a plow.

And yeah just waiting for the days we bring the clubs out again. For now we have the other hobby

Default Oooo Snow!

Snow Toes!

Had to uncover and back the Jag out of the garage to get to my roof rake to clean some snow off the house. Having come from the west coast, I don't think my baby has seen, let alone touch snow!

Had mine out in snow for the first time today, up in Hull. Only a couple of inches, but enough to make things interesting. It was tricky get out of the B&B carpark, and also getting into a small off-street carpark in town. I found Winter Mode made a significant difference in overall drivability, making the car less twitchy in low-grip situations.

I don't drive mine in snow, but when it gets below 40F (4-5C) or so I end up using Winter Mode because these Michelin A/S 3s are such horrible tires in cold. Winter Mode does help drivability .

Doors don't close well on my XK when it real cold out. Had to use a heat gun to warm the door panel...

I'm on P-Zeros - most people here don't do winter tyres, because it doesn't tend to be persistently cold in many places, not to the levels some of you guys experience. I notice the PZs struggle until I get at least a little warmth into them. But, given the choice, I avoid snow driving anyway; today was an exception, because we were away and staying put wasn't an option.
