New post to save time (and never bought one before) but can anyone recommend an OBD Scanner for a 2006 XK 4.2 pls

Of more interest to me is a pic of your Caterham... and hoping that you drive it as it's meant to be driven.

 

There are some that start at $8 which bluetooth to your phone or tablet, then there are the full-blown diagnostic units that cost a grand or more.

I've had my $8 Bluetooth scanner for eight years and it still works great. No expanded Jaguar codes, but I've never needed that. Live data on hundreds of systems, computational data, and I hooked it up to my TSD to show a whole bunch of live data for gauges.
I also cannot flash any modules, nor do in-depth things. BUT, I also have JLR SDD for that.

People like Foxwell units in here. Those can run expanded codes if you pay a few bucks for the Jag software. Maybe around $150-200 USD?

 

I've had very good luck, for $70, with the autel ap200 with the jlr software download, included. Works with your smartphone. Reads jlr codes, has a bunch of XK service functions that are useful, and a lot of XK data points that can be monitored. Only downside is the data monitoring graphs are pretty primitive. I also have sdd which I use very rarely because of the ap200. Good luck
