Default ODBII and convertible operation debugging

sorry if this was covered somewhere else or is a dumb question. my 2007 xkr convertible roof is working intermittently. i have read threads about the operation ... the manual reset helped a bit. but i will probably take to a professional. but i have a specific question before i do.

in the service manual it mentions data logger functions during the various stages of the convertible operation ...

eg Data-Logger: Convertible
Top position sensor inputs – Front latch open sensor - INACTIVE

so i was wondering if these are things that i can track and diagnose via the ODBII port using a purchased scanner or wireless ODBII scanner with a mobile APP ( i currently have one of those but it just gives engine codes)

thanks in advance

note the main issues i am seeing are
- quarter windows rarely come up even if the rest of the operation works properly
- tonneau cover sometimes does not open ( both when trying to OPEN the roof and when trying to CLOSE the roof )
- i also occasionally get the "hood not closed error" but i can usually make that go away by playing with the switch

There is a convertible top expert on this forum. His handle is whitexkr. You can pm him if you have enough posts. In addition, he has invented a one touch remote convertible top app which is quite reasonable and not difficult to install. You can check out the remote/one touch top app at thejaguarwrangler.com

Furthermore he is a very nice guy and very helpful. A lot of forum members (including me) have his top application including some hardware installed. Good luck.

My $30 autel ht200 scanner had all the same convertible codes as my SDD when my top started acting up.

My issue was either related to low battery, or not having the windows properly programmed.
