Default Odd knock front end

2007 XKR X150 70K

I have developed an odd knock at front, difficult infact bloody impossible to locate, I have checked all bushes, rods anti roll bars, struts all solid. Strut top mounts seem fine, no movement.
At times sound like it's behind dash on drivers side but I'm told this can sound like passenger dependent where you sit.
Steering colum seems solid also.
same for brakes no free movement.

Anyone any experience of similar?

Like a marble behind dashboard?

I hate to be beaten.

Thanks in advance

Anti roll bar drop links often clonk even though you cannot feel any play. Might be worth throwing in a new pair to rule out that problem as they are relatively cheap and easy DIY.

Thanks, I actually bought the bushes and red rubber grease but held off when I inspected and thought to be in good nick. TBH I was relieved as access to bolts is tight as, I shall give them a go, many thanks.

When you mentioned marble like noise that's how mine started out
Trying checking your upper strut caps whilst it's super rare it could very much be a possibility and save you a lot of time (I had my dash out a few times thinking something had fallen in and was rolling around)

The strut caps can seperste at the spot welds

Interesting that, I changed the upper wishbone about 2 month's prior to this where I dropped the strut to remove wishbone bolts. I wonder if this has potentially upset the weld and led to this. Okay I shall check it out, cheers.

You can go to the members page and sort by Join Date:

I see names I recognize with join dates in 2006 and 2007, although some are not from recent posts. Think a few from 2007 are still active on this forum.

I joined first in the X100 forum. So, take a year off mine for when I got my XKR.
