Default oil leak

Less than 26,000 mi. on her. I notices slight dripping on the garage floor. Tastes like possibly engine oil, not any other fluid, no odor or color. Can not see anything remotely wet when inspecting from the top, carefully with a flashlight- nothing.
It looks like it might be coming more from the back of the engine, but need to find a lift and take off the covers. oh well.
Any thoughts?

Engine oil is not colorless, but water is. That location is directly below the duckbill AC condensate tube.

Too bad there's no old-school dipstick to accurately see how much, if any, oil you've lost.

If your engine oil has no taste, you may have COVID-19.

Loss of the sense of smell and taste is a common symptom.

Didn't think that any of the later 5l.cars had the same duckbill issue

They still have an escape for the for the condensation from the AC

What liquid is colorless, odorless, and tasteless and puddles underneath the duckbill?

That's right! Water! That's what happens when the AC runs.

Maybe the OP doesn't have COVID.

Hi all,
Yes I tasted it, felt it in my fingers, smelled it, inspected the color, and it's not water, nor PS fluid, nor tranny fluid, nor coolant. The AC drain is more toward right-of center, and easy to feel the consistency of it in my fingers, and I observed it many times under the car-so not that. The dripping fluid is more like very light oil when felt in my fingers, dead center of the car. But that can be due to curvatures of the plastic cover. My sense of smell is fine, thanks.

next time you pull in, park over a piece of cardboard. leave it running a minute or two, then shut off normally. grab the cardboard before you move it again. oil leaves an oil stain, stays darker on the cardboard, stays greasy. water dries and leaves a watermark.

Well, then that's a real puzzle. I don't know of any automotive fluids that are colorless and odorless other than water. Could it be water vapor from the exhaust that condensed, ran to the lowest point, and dripped onto the floor? I doubt it.

Just put the fluid into a glass of water; if it floats it's oil; if it mixes and disappears, it's water!
Please don't drink it !!!
Cheers, Adrian

One thing about condensate water when it finally gets to the ground...... it doesn't drip straight down, it works its way down by streaming on all sorts of dirty, greasy filthy parts of the car. It does get a dirty oily taste to it when that happens and finally drips off the bottom of wherever it finally streamed from.

Drips very slowly (3-6 drops/day or less?), so maybe I'll put a small dish under for few days to catch some of it.

Well, car parked in my garage for 2 years, and only recently started 'staining' the clean concrete floor. The stains are not easy to remove.

Perhaps you should have led with that fact?

I've done some extensive research over the last 2 minutes and narrowed it down to transmission fluid or water.

Get it on a lift/jack stands and take a look. Must be some places on the island that will do that for free.

What I meant is, I bought the car close to 2 years ago, and keep it garaged. I have driven it 3,500 mi. so far.
