I guess I don't know what you've been saying as old gas if filtered would run an engine provided the fuel system is clean. The difference would be in the fuel where they started introducing ethanol which started to show issues. Most info I have seen is that after 90 days the ethanol starts to gel up so if you leave it in an engine especially lawn mowers or other small engines it gums up the carb. If you use a gas extender it will help solve the issue but the easiest thing to do is drain the stuff. Stale gas is usually contaminated with debris and or water.

You are spot on.
The video actually shows what a mess old gas makes.
And hey, if anyone can take their tank out of their Jag just to get clean gas, more power to those fools.

My points:

1) This family seems to make a point of keeping gas for a few years! Why??

2) Dad doesn't sound like a cowboy, so where do they get the shirts?

3) With gasoline a mere $3.50USD why have you got the recycle, we pay $5.85 over here (taking into account the 17% smaller US gallon) and don't?

An "Old cowboy shirt" will not filter out the water that might be in the old gasoline.

Perhaps he was using the incorrect type of "Cowboy Shirt"?

I told you kids to quit huffing gas. You'll fry your brain. Then you'll go on tirades looking stupid on CNN.
