Opinions on decision
Okay, I'm inviting opinions about this choice.
1. 2010 XKR Coupe, 6600 miles, fully equipped. Black/Black, like new. No warranty.
$48-49k
2. 2012 XKR Coupe, 19,300 miles, fully equipped. Silver/black with "black pack." Very nice, a little more wear and tear. Jaguar Select Edition warranty until Sept. 2016. $59k
Is there enough significant difference between the 2010 and the 2012 to make it worth the $10k difference? I know the warranty is worth something, but do the extra low miles on the 2010 matter?
TIA

I'd take the silver, for a few reasons ;
1. I actually prefer silver to black, I think it shows off the curves better (but black looks awesome too);
2. it will have the '12 shaped lights which are much nicer;
3. it has a fair bit of warranty - it wouldn't take much to have $10K worth of repairs.
Over here we pay a lot more than you do for the cars, but if I could get out of my '11 and into a '12 with an extra 1 1/2 years warranty for less than $20K, I'd be into it like a fat kid on a cupcake.

The differences are minimal save for the reverse camera (which I believe was available on the 2012 but not on the 2010) and the shape of the headlights. I don't prefer the new to the old or vice versa. They're slightly different, one with the l.e.d. halo, one without. They don't do anything for me. I have a silver 2010XKR coupe, and had I had the choice, (I bought it used), I would have preferred a darker color as I think it shows off the body better.
Although both cars would be great, and the mileage difference between them is irrelevent, $10,000 is not. And, I would bet there is some negotiating room on the 2010 as most are priced below the amount you quoted.
Either will give you a great experience.

Me, I'd get the '12. Bruce is right about the warranty may save you quite a bit, which also asks the question.... Why does the '10 have only 6k miles? I know I don't drive MINE a WHOLE lot, but definitely more than 1000 miles a year. Was this car sitting in some shop somewhere non-operable for a year or two? Another thing was brought up by tberg, the reverse camera. My 2010 never had the option, and I will definitely buy one from whitexkr when his product becomes available, and that will probably be somewhere north of $700.
Also, $49,000 seems like a lot for a 2010, even WITH the low miles. How many miles are YOU going to drive it? If you plan on adding a LOT of miles, then lower would be better to start. If you don't plan on adding many, then why not the higher mileage car? After you use it the miles will still be low. Of course, the difference between 6600 and 19,300 isn't really all that much.
I think it all comes down to if you're comfortable spending that extra ten grand. To some, that's a fortune. Others, not so much.

I would opt for the 12 despite the higher mileage. Two main reasons. The 10 was the first year for the 5.0 litre engine and the addition of the backup camera and the IED running lights on the 12. Actually a third major reason is the warranty. I think you put those three things together and you are getting your extra $10k worth. On the other hand you probably can't go wrong with either car. Good luck and welcome aboard. Please show us pics of the one you decide to get.

Gees, other people are quick to spend your money. I'd carefully consider the $10k+ savings on the '10 model and not be overly concerned about the warranty. It expires next year anyway, so how much would one expect to go wrong with a car with 6k during that short coverage time? Personally, I'd go for the '10 model, apply the $10k savings toward a Viking Tour with the misses and contemplate, over a martini, of course, how grand life is.

You could get the '10 and purchase a LONG dealer-serviced extended warranty and still have $6-7000 left over. IMO, the cosmetic changes are minimal, most people would not even notice.
That is what I did. I purchased my '10 Black XKR with 5900 orig. miles about a year ago and purchased a 7 year, 100,000 miles dealer warranty for $3700. Car runs, looks flawless and since I have hardly driven it (800 miles in a year) still has the dealer's plastic on the passenger carpet which automatically convinces every passenger thus far that it is a brand new car :-).
BTW - The car will accumulate more mileage soon when my '12 XJL lease expires and I will turn it in without getting an other one.

Thanks, everyone. I decided to go with the 2012. I got the price down a bit and the dealer with the 2010 wasn't as willing. I called the Jaguar dealer who last serviced the 2012 and talked to the service tech. He knows the car and says it actually has Jaguar Select until Sept. 2017. That tipped in favor of the 2012.
He also says on the supercharged cars to change the oil every 7500 miles or 6 months, whichever came first. He was adamant about not letting it go over 6 months. Here is the one I bought:
2012 Used Jaguar XK XKR at Momentum Motorcars Inc. Serving Marietta, GA, IID 12865560
Can't wait to get it! Will have it shipped to me next week.

Congrats, Bill, you're going to love owning an XKR.
I've not been given that recommendation by either a dealer or my indy specialist. The standard service interval for all XK models, which includes an oil change, is 12 months or 10k miles. It's your $, but most of the rest of us seem to be getting by with the standard interval. If you track the car regularly or run it a lot in high temperatures, that might make more frequent changes advisable.
