Default Passenger seat stuck reclined back

My passenger seat controls all work, except to bring the seat back forward, so it is stuck reclined. I've googled and searches some threads. I find lots of info on the X100 seat control modules. Is it the same/similar? I couldn't locate the seat control module, maybe I was being obtuse. I was hoping to try swapping the driver and passenger modules to isolate the problem, before resorting to taking it in to a dealer/shop. Any help appreciated!

It's a 2007 XK coupe.

Thanks, I did see on of those threads before. In the X100, is seems swapping the seat control modules is easy. If I could try that before dropping a couple hundred at the dealer, I would. More than anything, it's a hassle to make the trip, drop off, etc., I'd rather get this done myself. Otherwise I'll try the dealer recalibration. I did pull/check fuses, all good there.

How did you get it to recline? The seat back jams into the qtr panel. Possibly blown a fuse or tripped the module overloads (if they have them similar to the windows). Have you tried moving the seat forward? What does the X150 service manual say as far as trouble shooting goes?

Although it also has Seat Modules under the seat base, the X150 has an added complexity over the previous X100 model - seat calibration. This thread may help:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...solved-115115/

If the seat can't be moved to access the seat module, here's the workaround to power it:

I haven't had an X150 Seat Module opened up (yet!) but it wouldn't surprise me if they show a similar issue to X100 with cracked tracks as they age.

Default solved

So, assuming it'd be calibration issue I took the car(or rather I got my son to take it) to a local indy shop. They hooked up their scan tool, or whatever, and reset it and seat is fine. I've never been to this shop before, and they did it free of charge, took 5 min. Even so, that's amazing, props to them. Tech said he thinks the motor is going bad, not sure why, but in any case, he said he'd recommend doing nothing until it actually fails.

So cool, best result I could have possibly hoped for!

Before you spend any money on replacing the module beneath the seat, have a decent diagnostic done to see if in fact that is the problem. I recently experienced what you've described and the technician found that a coin had become lodged in the (drivers) seat track, thereby preventing the seat from fully sliding properly. After bypassing the module with his computer, he was able to move the seat into a position to where he found the coin, removed it and then reset the system to allow for a renewed full and complete functioning of the seat.

Sounds goofy, I know, but this sure saved me a hell of a lot of hassle and money.

I am in the New York City Metro Area. Please tell me where you have found this wonderful indy shop, where you have never been, who made the adjustment without charge.

I posted it in the regional forum. British Auto Works
on Stilwell Ave in the Bronx. I was really surprised, and quite pleased! They had tons of range rovers there mostly. Maybe they just figured that if I’m there with a ten year old Jag, they’ll lock me in for future work! In any case, great result.
