Thumbs up Pedestrian Impact System

Hi,

I have a xk dynamic r, which in cold and wet wet weather display a message to check pedestrian impact protection, during warm weather the warning doesn’t appear. I have the supercharged version, so access to the front impact sensors is not possible from inside the engine bay, due to the supercharger cooling infront of the main radiator. Is there a way of checking if these sensors are at fault with an OBD2 diagnostic, and how do you access the sensors if they are faulty. Any advice will be much appreciated.

You need a professional scanner, cheap ones can't access pedestrian fault codes. I've used Launch x431.

Thanks, by cheap ones, do you mean under £30, which claim to do everything. Thanks for the tip, save wasting money👍

I had the codes read & the sensors replaced by Mistermatic in Fforestfach last December, costs were £55 to read the codes, £225 for 2 sensors & £70 labour to remove & replace front bumper & undertray. A cheap OBD2 code reader will read the engine codes only.
