Default Poor bluetooth quality

My Bluetooth phone performance is quite poor. Since I haven't seen (or searched for) many threads on Bluetooth, I was wondering if owners are satisfied with their phone Bluetooth quality. Most of the times I can hear incoming calls quite well, but the callers tell me they don't hear me clearly. I will admit that I am a dinosaur and still have a flip phone. I did bring it in to Jaguar a few times in the past and they reassured me it is working as it should. Is it inherent to our Bluetooth, or is there a possibility that when I switch to an iphone it might improve? Thanks all.

I get that from my missus all the time, she cant hear me well when we are chatting on the phone from the car. I searched the threads and found one that suggested that the mike (in the plastic thing on the A pillar near your face) is pretty ordinary quality, but apparently it can be improved. I'm pretty sure that it was on this site, and in the XK forum. I've had the issue with an iPhone and with the Samsung I now have, so I don't think changing phones will help.

Honestly, I've never had a complaint from anyone about the call quality while using Bluetooth in the Jag. People complained all the time when I used it in either my BMW or Infiniti.

I only get a complaint about people hearing me when the top is down and I am on the freeway with the windows down. if I put the windows up I am told it is tolerable. At lower speeds (45MPH or so) there are no problems and I can hear easily.

Seems like there are mixed reviews about the quality. I wonder if the actual location of the car is a factor as well. I guess I'll know more once I change my phone and search for any info on the A pillar mike.

Try pairing it with a buddy's phone and see how it sounds.

Thanks BruceTheQuail....I have seen that, however my microphone is already on the A Pillar so repositioning is not an issue. Also, this was a TSB back in 2007 and I would hope that the newer models were already updated. I will ask another Jaguar dealership if this TSB can apply to my 2010 before bringing my car in. I have an extended warranty, and if they don't find anything wrong there is a $150 diagnostic fee.
