Default Pulling both paddles

I was reading a review of the XK, and it seemed to suggest that if you pull both paddles at the same time, it would put the car in neutral. Is this correct? That would be great for revving at a traffic light!

No, it does not, at least on the '13.

The only way to get the car into neutral is putting into neutral "N".

When you pull both paddles for more than two seconds it will revert to automatic gear selection after using the paddles to shift.

On the 2013, if you are in either D or S mode, automatic is reinstated simply by pulling the right-hand paddle for 2 seconds. You don't have to pull both.

Same with all of them I think. 2-3 seconds on the right paddle revert back to auto. If it's in D mode then the system auto reverts back after 15 seconds. It's only in S that it stays sticky in manual mode.

so, another question in regards to shifting control.... Did i read somewhere that Jag finally disbled the "auto shift" at redline when in sport mode and just held you with a rev limiter?
If so,what year was that software change?

peace!

The '09 I drove did not seem to have this feature. I only put it in "sport" mode--I didn't turn off traction control or anything like that.

This is an Aston Martin feature not a Jag. 2-3 seconds on the right paddle on a Jag during when is paddle shifting mode returns it to P-R-N-D mode.

Same with my 10 XKR Octurbo. It's one of the reasons I consented to buy an automatic. In 'manual' mode, I don't want the transmission thinking for me. My choices. Now obey.

Any idea if that is the way it is for all XKRs or just the 2010+ models?
