Having issues with a Jag dealer getting quotes for parts/service for valley hoses replacement. My question is will access to Topix give me more detail for the procedure than the service manuals listed in
the stickies thread - does Topix have a more thorough breakdown of the job?
TOPIx will only give you the same procedures as the Workshop Manuals in the 'stickies' - that's where they came from.
JLR used to publish 'labour times' for tasks but I haven't found these recently. I expect with something like valley hose replacement, a Jaguar Dealer really doesn't want the aggravation and will give an outrageous quote either to put you off or to make a handsome profit if you decide to proceed.

Thanks Graham, I thought the sticky manuals came from the Topix. I'm having trouble getting the dealer to source seals and gaskets in the quote, they included the outlet pipe #AJ812469 (houses the thermostat) at $1100 - not needed - I'm working through the EPC to find parts currently. There has been some kind of "shake up" at the dealership - service manager no longer has access to parts catalogue, passed the job onto the parts guy. Place seems to have gone downhill since the last time I had some major service done.

I had an indie Euro shop do my hoses on my XKR. Other stuff also, like SC torsion isolator, changed S/C oil, GDI injectors on the remaining side, oil cooler replacement (that's what leaked, I thought it was the coolant lines. Nope. Did 'em anyway),
Coolant flush, several times to rid ALL moisture and a replacement with EVANS waterless. Swapped out the thermostat, checked the water pump (perfect Original) changed the belts, and a couple other minor things. All-in was like $5200, but now it's done.
Parts so far from the new quote - some parts (gaskets and seals) not on there - $1100 when the not needed outlet pipe is subtracted, I emailed and asked what about the labour charge?
What he ^^^^ said. The labor for Jaguar is I think $225 or more now per hour. The job total hours is somewhere around 20 hours, so that's another $5k or so. Just an estimate, but probably close.

I don't think they are that high Cee Jay. Previous quote for labour was $1830.95 Canuck dollars, but I think they underestimated the scope of the job. I'm using the parts list from this guys thread as a guide - it's a good write up:

O-rings for vacuum and breather lines are not on there. As well as cleaning cans, masking, paint, misc tools, etc...
@McJag222 , I’m in Ottawa. Shore Auto did the work for me at about 5k. And that included maintenance on the supercharger as it was off, anyways. (and every time she visits the spa, she gets an oil change and massage) As others have said, find yourself an Inde that knows jags and LRs. Being in Vancouver, there must be a few.
Had the valley hose replaced on my 2013 in 2021 and it was $1179 The intake manifold gasket were over priced and I challenged them but i think they were covering actual manhours,
