R-S Badges / ID on 2012
Morning All-
Anyone know if there was an option to delete badges / ID on 2012 XKR-S models?
Mine does not have the kitty nor XK badge on the rear (I just figured the previous owner pulled them off), nor does it have the R/S embroidered into the headrest....nor the RS logo on the panel above the glove box.
I'm not complaining about it, just more curious than anything.
Thanks
Mike

Run the VIN through topix to get the build. This will tell you if it was built as an R-S and with what changes, if any. If you don't have access to an account on topix let me know with your VIN and I'll run it for you.
Seems strange that it doesn't have the badging. Is there a possibility that this is an XK clone? It's easy to change the trim pieces and the rear badges but I would think the headrest would be difficult unless it was a performance seat from an XK.
Well, I certainly will be disappointed if this is a clone...and sounds like it would then lead to legal issues with the Porsche dealer I purchased it from. All paperwork from the dealer does indicate XKR-S...the door sills indicate XKR-S....front and rear R-S logos in place...that goofy carbon fiber engine cover says R-S...certainly anything is possible I guess! Ugh!
DGL...if you don't mind running the VIN that would be awesome! SAJWA4HA4CMB47452
Thank you, Mike

Topix build shows it is an R-S. Must have been a special order. I also googled the VIN and the car has past through many used car lots, Ohio, KY, Rancho Mirage, CA etc. with various milage, 4,???, 9,????, 1?,???. These Jaguars are extremely hard to sell and dealers trade them to move them off the lots. Nothing to worry about the car looks beautiful and you probably got a great deal.

Mike, you also have several service campaigns open. You should get it into a dealer for servicing and ask about the validity of your warranty because it appears a number of oil changes have been missed.
Thanks for the work DGL!
I did check CarFax and AutoCheck...I knew the car was originally sold/titled in CA. Then moved to Indiana and KY (same owner I was told)....finally traded it in in OH at the Porsche dealer. I did notice that the previous owner had done the oil changes at some Quick Stop Oil change place...not the Jag dealer. Car only has 13000 miles on it and appears as if the warranty should be in place till 9/16. I am running around a bit today (in my truck as its raining here) so I will stop by and pay a visit to the dealer with this info and see what they have to say. Thanks again!
