Random curiosity
Yesterday a friend was getting his clubs out of my trunk and I noticed, not for the first time, that the warning on my dash said "Trunk open". So I wondered, for those of you that live outside the US or just in the UK, does your warning call it "Trunk" or "Boot"?
Per others have said, language is adjustable, but in my older X100 it is not; bonnet in the front, hood in the middle and boot in the back versus hood, top and trunk. Given the retro nature, and that it kind of was meant to play up the englishness for marketing, I think they never adjusted for our market since the owners would like it. Less work and owners like it means approved!
That confused the hell out of me on my 2003 XK8. I was getting a hood not latched error. I spent 15 minutes opening and slamming the hood before I realized it meant the convertible top.
You’re not the only one! Got that while test driving the first X150 I was in, with the used car salesman (tried to open the top while driving on a local street). Stopped and tried slamming the ‘hood’ several times with no effect. Shouldn’t have been surprised, as it took them half an hour to find the battery when it wouldn’t start.

You can actually change this in the settings of the touchscreen, to whatever language you want.
