Rear Quater interior side panles seat belt guide clips broken broken
Maybe others here have had this issue. On my 2008 XK coupe it seems like people reclined the seats so far back the seat back hit the seat belt guides on the rear seat side panels breaking the piece under the trim that the guides clip into. The guides are in perfect shape just the clip under the panel is dislodged and I am sure broken in places so you can't get the guides to seat properly. I tried searching the forum but couldn't find exactly what I am looking for as far as any repairs. Replacements are a bit pricey. Parts sites say the other years wont fit the 2008 XK. Is that right? I can probably repair them using my plastic welding kit and maybe a little epoxy rather then spend a ton of money for full replacements.
The actual part that is broken is highlighted in red. The interior panels are in excellent shape I really do not want to buy whole new panels if possible. One of the guys in my local Jaguar Group has a source somewhere in Florida that specializes in Jaguar parts. I'll see him at out next meeting.
The plastic in our cars is now 20 years old and is becoming more brittle. I am using J-B Weld Plastic Bonder {Black) to repair from the backside reinforced with Fibreglass mesh

Thanks all! My 2003 VDP plastic is starting to crack and break but that is 5 years older. Unfortunately as some plastics age they get brittle, sunlight and high heat break down polymer chains and trigger the evaporation of plasticizers it a inevitable process. I was driving the VDP one day when the clip that holds the drivers visor up broke and it went flying by my head. The plastic around both visors are cracked and falling apart they just crumble in you hand. Scared the crap out of me because I thought something came thru the windshield. LOL I checked with my Jag mechanic and another in the area.in case they might have parts laying around. Both told me that I am not the only one who's had the problem with brittle plastic and it's more likely to happen when your vehicle comes from a state that is usually pretty hot. My Jag XK came from Florida and even though it seems like it was garaged there are a few signs the heat/sun did play a factor in the plastics deteriorating. The wood trim is a bit faded in spots my VDP is the same the wood has faded and has cracks I am just going to have to repair it rather than get the parts. My interior is Charcoal almost ever part I can find in in tan/camel.I have one more one of the guys in My Jaguar club has a place in FL he had great luck with he's going to check and let me know what they have. If not I know I can fix them. I could get them scanned and print them on my 3D printer if needed.
