Replacement suede for headliner
I am the second owner, I bought the car a little over two and a half years ago with 35k miles so it's possible it was replaced but I would bet it is original canvas cloth as Cambo states above.
As usual, this site and community have been a Godsend for solving issues with our favorite marque! I'm in the same situation as so many on this thread--catastrophic failure of the entire headliner in the course of a single afternoon. Granted, the San Antonio sun that afternoon drove the interior temperature to register 120 degrees Fahrenheit and the 10-year-old foam and glue simply gave up the ghost.
Thanks to the many members who have provided a wealth of information and documentation, especially tberg, Cambo and Clellandm, I've decided to tackle the replacement myself.
Ted, I've PM'ed you my address!

I have a dumb question:
I have a 2007 XK Convertible with light coloured liner.
So it seems to be only one choice of liner material to be. But even, if I misinterprete this, it will be irrelevant, as long as the color pleases, because all of the liner will be replaced and be new material?
I hope there will be sufficient material for a saddlery to work with?
Looking forward to order from TBerg resp Ted!

Hi Ted I'm Dennis and I see you're very helpful with your headliner material. I have a 2009 XKR with a headliner off in a shop for the past two days. I shop thought he was able to glue the headliner back up however, it was cut short and trimmed and it's not happening. My interior seats I believe are cream in color, almost white with black dash and of course the light color headliner I believe in these threads you're calling "Canvas?" I'm torn between going black as I like the one Big Otter did and has nice contrast however I have the light color seats, not black... although I think it may look sporty. Then again I guess keeping it original has it's merits as well. What I would like to do is purchase both the Black passion suede and the light color as well which is the closets match to my original. I really need it ASAP as the car is apart and sitting outside the shop. I'm new to the site and was going to PM you however do not know how to do that. Thanks for your help, Dennis
Hi Dennis,
I just sent an email through the forum since you can't private message yet. If and when you get it, contact me and we'll get you your suede right away.
Thanks,
Ted

2001 XJR
I've been searching for the ebony material used in my 2016 XJL suede/velvet looking headliner. Just the material so I can redo my 2001 XJR. Any suggestions? Also the leather (vinyl) substitute material in my 2001 XJR. Color charcoal I think or a dark charcoal or black?
Thanks!!
The Passion suede that I have been supplying to many forum members has a black that is slightly darker than the Warm Charcoal of the X150, but I don't know about how it matches your black. PM you address and I can send you a sample.
You do not have to remove the windshield, but the passenger seat may need to come out. The hardest part of the job is removing the back seat to get to the rear trim pieces (If you are doing all 6 trim pieces). Yes, my shop was able to reuse my existing headliner, although most shops refuse to attempt it. I did have the headliner refoamed, and all the trim pieces reglued (without foam). I lucked out to get the sun visors redone with the original material and refoamed as well. Most importantly, get a REPUTABLE SHOP to do the work.

Sorry if I'm not doing things correctly - I'm very new to this forum. I'm posting this to try to get in contact with Ted Berg to see if he is still able to supply material for replacing the headliner for my 2007 XK base model. Thanks.
Thanks for the reply, Ted. I do not think I've posted enough messages to the forum yet to be allowed to send personal messages. So everybody can be bored by this. From what I can tell, the car is painted "Liquid Silver". The interior (seats) is "Charcoal", and the interior trim looks like it matches "Ivory/Slate". I also live in the LA area, so I probably can just drive to somewhere so you can have a look at the car.

I also have a liquid silver XKR coupe and the interior is warm charcoal. For all intents and purposes it appears black. The Passion suede black that I have, is a deeper shade of black than the "warm charcoal. It would look fine but won't match the A pillars exactly. But doing those pillars in the same suede should not be an issue. If you're also in L.A., we can arrange to meet someplace and I can bring the samples. I live in the San Fernando Valley, but frequently travel into the city as I have projects all over the place. This coming week is very busy for me but I can meet you any evening except Tuesday, if you like.
Thanks,
Ted
